Why spend endless hours of swiping on dating apps when you could just swipe endlessly on one man?
That’s the question literally no one has been asking — and now, we have an answer anyway.
Aaron Smith, a 31-year-old North Carolina man, first devised the idea for his mobile-only app “Singularity” after striking out multiple times on other dating apps.
Unhappy with the current market, Smith set out to disrupt the status quo and eventually was able to pinpoint the main issue he saw in traditional apps like Tinder and Hinge.
“The biggest problem with the other apps is that my face is not featured prominently,” he joked to WFMY.
“If life gives you lemons — like, your personality, for example,” he continued, self-deprecatingly, “you should first make lemonade. Then, make sure no other companies can produce or distribute their own soft drinks. So the only game in town is lemonade.”
Although Smith may have a sense of humor, Singularity is no joke — the app is 100 percent real.
Women who sign up for the service can expect to swipe through a classic carousel of profiles, as one would expect to find on any other dating platform — only on Singularity, every photo is of Smith.
He even made a commercial for the app explaining its unique features.
“Online dating is terrible and getting more nonsensical with every passing year,” Smith says in the dramatic video. “Sure, you can meet people the old fashioned way by going outside, but that feels like a lot of work.”
“Singularity saves you countless hours of swiping by just matching you with me,” he adds.
Although the commercial has been viewed over 46,000 times, there’s no word yet on if Smith’s unique and elaborate tactic has found him a suitable match.
