Stuart Weitzman’s latest collection celebrates the Year of the Rat

The Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year, is celebrated when the new moon appears between Jan. 21 and Feb. 20. This year, that date lands on Jan. 25, and to celebrate the Year of the Rat, Stuart Weitzman has launched a chic capsule collection.

The collection features embroidered stars and rat motifs (don’t worry, they’re actually so cute) on sneakers, boots and a handbag. Red is commonly worn during the Lunar New Year to bring good luck and defend against misfortune, so if you’re a traditionalist, go with the red boots. Otherwise, we’re kind of obsessed with the low-top Daryl white leather sneakers with black embroidery. They’d be great paired with jeans, leather leggings, a skirt — anything really.

The handbag is a camera-style bag and comes in two colors: black leather or red leather, each with white embroidered motifs and gold hardware. It’s big enough to hold your phone, wallet and keys and few other necessities for quick errands or nights out on the town.

You can shop all three limited-edition pieces below, but make sure to check all of Stuart Weitzman’s picks for the Chinese New Year.
