Finding a facial cleanser that works for your skin can sometimes be a long and trying process. Among all the different products out there, it can be difficult in knowing where to start or what to look for. You might have already asked yourself, “Do I stick with something all-natural?” or “Is the hefty price tag worth it?”

Personally, I have known this all too well. As someone with combination skin that’s sensitive, I became overwhelmed with the sudden breakouts and rashes that would occur on my face — especially during the cooler months or after using a new product. I felt like avoiding irritation was inevitable and I didn’t know how to calm my pores.

However, after a seemingly endless search, I came across one cleanser that I now consistently rely on. And whenever my face decides to act up, I immediately turn to this skincare hero for relief and readjusting. One of my favorite things about it? It’s literally only $9.

Free of any fragrance, dyes and sulfates, this cleanser is super gentle on my face and is completely oil-free. While I’ve used many different types of cleansers, this one has been great at removing makeup and hasn’t dried out my skin, even during the winter. It’s also non-comedogenic, so you don’t have to worry about it clogging your pores. Additionally, it’s accepted by the National Eczema Association.

Although this item is part of my normal routine, sometimes I can’t help but want to try a new cleanser or serum to switch things up a bit. However, not all formulas work well for me and I’ll end up counting on this cleanser to get my face back on track. And let me tell you, it has not disappointed.

But don’t only take my word. Rachel Nazarian, a dermatologist from Schweiger Dermatology Group, told Byrdie, “This one doesn’t have any formaldehyde, fragrance, parabens, or dyes. It’s one of the gentlest, safest ways to cleanse your skin. I’ve never had a problem with it (even with my most sensitive-skin patients).”

Shoppers also can’t seem to get enough of it. One five-star reviewer on Amazon wrote, “Gentle as can be! My face was very dry and I wanted something gentle and that wouldn’t leave my skin red and irritated. This works for me and feels very nice on my skin as it lathers up. Does not seem to leave my face taut like others that seem to take every bit of moisture out of my skin. It actually makes my face smooth to the touch. Was worth it for me to try and I think I have finally found the proper face wash for myself.”

You can also shop Vanicream’s moisturizer that’s a must in my beauty arsenal.
