Latin pop singer Jennifer Lopez turned heads after she shared a photo of herself and her mother in celebration of International Women’s Day.
On March 8, Lopez took to Instagram to post a series of photos she had taken with influential women in her life, one of which included her 74-year-old — but seemingly ageless — mother Guadalupe Rodriguez.
“Strong women empower each other,” Lopez wrote, including other photos that she had taken with billionaire media executive Oprah Winfrey, singer Lady Gaga, Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace, R&B and hip-hop star Beyoncé, along with others.
The singer’s post received over 1.6 million likes and a flood of supportive comments.
“Wow just beautiful,” one person quipped.
“Your Mamma has not changed one bit!!” another wrote. “She has always been your #1 support!!!”
Guadalupe, who raised Lopez and her two sisters together with David López, celebrated her 74th birthday in December 2019, according to ¡Hola! magazine. That month, Lopez brought her mother to the stage at one of her concerts, where the two enthusiastically jammed to a song together. An Instagram clip of the two similarly went viral, receiving well over 85 million views.
“People ask me where I get my energy from, my drive, my dance moves lol,” Lopez wrote in a touching tribute. “Well now you know … Guadalupe … my mommy for as long back as I can remember, I can see her dancing, laughing and lighting up every room she was in.”
