When it comes to working out, many people opt to skip a pre or post-workout stretch, not realizing how crucial flexibility and proper stretch exercises are to one’s overall fitness. These three simple moves will give you the ultimate full body stretch, all the way from your neck, down to your legs.
1. Cat and cow into cobra (3 sets of 3 breaths)
Start in a plank position and drop your knees down into the cat and cow. Inhale up, and exhale and push the ground away. Vinyasa into the cobra pose.
2. Hamstring stretch (3 sets of 3 breaths)
Take a seat into a half butterfly pose with one leg and stick your other leg straight forward. From there, reach and grab your toes. If you cant reach your toes, grab as far as you can on your leg.
3. Neck stretch (3 sets of 3 breaths)
Assume a crosslegged position, sit with your chest straight up and drop your head towards one side until you feel a stretch across your neck. For an added stretch, you can take your arm and extend it out to the side. Repeat on the other side.
