Bed desks have most recently become one of the hottest work-from-home staples, but for those who would like a similar experience with a little less bulk, a tablet stand may be the perfect fit.

While there are several options on the market, it goes without saying that they’re not all created equally. In fact, based on shoppers’ reviews, it’s rare that one comes along that checks the boxes for both functionality and comfort. Luckily, it appears this pick from Tablift meets both requirements and then some.

Retailing for $40, this universal tablet stand features fully flexible legs that allow it to be bent in several positions that customize its fit to your needs.

Described to be “perfect on the couch or in bed,” the product securely holds any tablet on top of its bendable and adjustable legs, allowing users to enjoy their device hands-free, even while lying completely flat. In addition to being ideal for use in bed or on the couch, it can be easily used on any uneven surface and is said to hold your tablet “at eye level,” causing less strain on your neck.

With more than 750 reviewers and an average rating of 4.5 stars, this tablet stand is a winner among shoppers, with one even sharing a personal story of how it “makes reading in bed a lot less painful.”

“I used to read in bed and when I fell asleep my iPad would hit me in the face or fall on the floor! Now even if I fall asleep my face and iPad are safe,” he wrote.

Another shopper added that this product is multi-use, writing that it “works well in the chair or on the bed” and is even perfect “for use in the car.”

One shopper explained, “I love, love, love this infinitely adjustable stand,” while adding that it is “perfect if you just use [your] iPad at home.”

“Works on the couch, in the recliner, in bed,” the five-star reviewer continued. “I especially like that I can wake up and browse the morning headlines in bed without getting a stiff shoulder.”

The main critique several shoppers had, however, is that tablets housed in thick protective cases do not seem to fit in the stand. Some have detailed that they had to remove their device from its case in order to use the product.

While this tablet stand is a clear customer favorite, it may not be your taste in aesthetics or function. If that’s the case, we’ve listed four more options at varying price points — so you to find the one that best fits your needs:
