UV sanitizers are the present — and honestly, the future — of phone cleaning systems, with several versions selling out across multiple retailers.
Because cell phones harbor tons of bacteria (scientists at the University of Arizona, in fact, found that they are actually 10 times dirtier than toilet seats), folks are actively seeking safer solutions when cleaning and using their handheld tech.
Shop: Sharper Image Wireless Charging Station with UV Sanitizer, $99.99 ($25 off with code ’25OFF99′)
Currently on sale for $25 off through Sunday (April 26) at midnight, this chic device is said to be “modern, efficient and innovative.”
Boasting the form factor of a beautiful tabletop vase, the Sharper Image Wireless Charging Station with UV Sanitizer fully disguises your device while recharging and disinfecting its surface. The gadget uses UV light to eliminate “99.9 percent of bacteria on your phone in just 20 minutes.” One thing to note is that it is unclear whether this sanitization device kills viruses.
The device is compatible with all Qi-enabled smartphones (phones with wireless charging capabilities) and connects to any outlet via USB-C. According to the product’s description, any compatible phone will be fully charged in roughly three hours.
Shoppers have been raving about the compact product’s performance, with one highlighting its elegant form factor.
“I keep it on my phone table, to be handy. I love the sleek, vase-like design,” the five-star reviewer wrote, with another adding, “I just drop my phone in and it immediately starts charging and sanitizing.”
Another reviewer praised its multi-functionality while highlighting that it gives her peace of mind.
“I’m a bit of a germaphobe so I was happy when I received this gift,” the shopper wrote. “I’m able to disinfect and recharge my phone simultaneously at the end [of] each day. It’s so convenient for a multitasker like myself.”
Still, a couple of reviewers highlighted two minor cons of the product, with one of those shortcomings being the device’s inability to clean and charge phones housed in bulky cases. One particular reviewer who owns an iPhone 8 Plus specified that he had to remove his Otterbox case for his device to fit. He highlighted, however, that that was his “only complaint.” The other setback expressed among reviewers was its price, with one writing that the “item is a bit too expensive.”
Yet, with this weekend-long sale, this proves to be the perfect time to snag the popular device at a discounted price.
