Biker records harrowing ride along the edge of a cliff

If you have pearls, get ready to clutch them.

French professional mountain biker Kilian Bron posted a chilling video on Instagram of one of his recent bike paths.

It’s business as usual for Bron who is a professional and not afraid to push boundaries. But the exhilarating footage of Bron cycling on the edge of a cliff at Congost de Mont-rebei in Spain is sure to make anyone afraid of heights queasy.

Shot with a GoPro, Bron speeds down a very narrow path on the side of the canyon. Bron seems to credit his mental fortitude for being able to complete the expedition.

“There is no place for doubts! But I have to follow some rules: put myself into my bubble, analyze, anticipate and then ride!” He wrote in the caption.

ESPN also shared the thrilling video on Facebook where it racked up 5.9 million views. Let’s just say the viewers seemed more fearful than he was.

“Anxiety just watching… Dear lord, I love living. I pray for this man’s safety and thank the video makers. But I can only do a couple of seconds. Some people are born with this I just wasn’t, lol,” one Facebook user said.

“I wouldn’t walk down that path let alone speed through it with a bicycle. Brave soul,” another wrote.

“I couldn’t even walk that trail without going down… a bike! Wheelies! Nope,” one person joked.

Mont-rebei is lush with biodiversity and varied landscapes like mountains, rivers and canyons. The notoriously steep cliffs with rocky peaks are elevated hundreds of feet high. The narrow trails are popular with hikers and cyclists. But if you’re thinking of recreating Bron’s video we suggest leaving that up to the pros. After all, this wasn’t his first rodeo.

A member of the Intense Mavic Collective, his specialty is enduro-downhill races. Bron cycled down the world’s highest sand dune in 2018 and won the 2019 French riding competition “Mountain of Hell” where competitors race to the bottom of an 11,000-foot glacier. This seems like it’s kind of his thing!
