Growing up in Texas, Chaco sandals were the shoes you would wear to summer camp. While I wasn’t one to ever get on board with a pair of Chacos back then, there’s something about the brand now that I love, and I’m currently obsessed.

Maybe it’s a nod to the ugly sneaker and ugly sandal trend, or maybe it’s because I actually care about wearing comfortable shoes now, but I’m calling it now that Chaco sandals are in again and are a classic, here to stay.

Inspired by a Colorado rafting guide who wanted a shoe that could be worn for adventures in and out of the water, the company was given the symbol of a gecko, as it’s known to thrive in any environment.

So because the outsoles are made of sticky rubber, they’re the ultimate land-to-water shoe. You can wear them to the beach or on a hike, and they’re super supportive, water-resistant and provide grip and traction on any terrain (hence why they were always a top pick for camp activities).

And because Chaco’s original Z/ Sandals all come with adjustable, pull-through straps, you can get an even more secure feel and customized fit on your foot.

While my personal favorite Chaco sandals are part of the company’s newest Z/Chromatic collection, which features the traditional Chaco sandal in multiple monochromatic color schemes, there are styles that are currently more affordable thanks to the brand’s huge sale section with more than 200 discounted pairs.

If you’re looking for a sandal upgrade to wear for long walks, hikes, beach days (we can only dream!) and more, Chacos are meant to be put to the test — and an adventure!

Below we’ve rounded up some of the best Chaco women’s and men’s styles that are currently on sale. If you’re looking to add a little bit of personality to your shoes, you can also customize your own pair of Chacos down to the color of the stitching
