These parents created a life-size Whack-a-Mole game for their daughters

An English couple created a human Whack-a-Mole game for their kids.

Kate and her husband spent two days constructing the life-size arcade game to appease their restless children.

“In an effort to keep us all sane we decided to make our own machine in the living room. I don’t think the version my husband and I had in mind completely met with their expectations,” Kate told Newsflare.

Kate’s daughters Sakura and Keiko play the role of the moles. Each girl waits inside the cardboard box and then one bobs their head out of a hole just like in the real game. Except, this time mom is the player. She uses a giant styrofoam hammer to whack each girl’s head. The parents even added retro arcade sound effects.

However, unlike in the real game, one of the moles gets her revenge. At the end of the clip, Sakura throws a fake hammer at mom and bludgeons her in the head — a shocking twist!

“Ten weeks in our flat under lockdown with our two daughters, Sakura aged seven and Keiko aged two. For them, everything seemed to depend on when they could get down to the amusement arcade to play their favorite game — Whack Attack,” Kate told NewsFlare.

While the future of arcades around the world remains uncertain due to the global lockdowns, life-size Whack-a-Mole looks like a worthy substitute.
