This Airbnb is every ‘Harry Potter’ fan’s dream

As summer approaches, fans of J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series can stay at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter if they want a quick getaway. The only catch? It’s actually an Airbnb on the Champions Gate Resort ground that’s 15 minutes away from the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

On June 7, Disney vloggers Taylor and Josh of the YouTube channel The WDW Couple shared a walkthrough of the eight-bedroom, five-bathroom house that its host, Loma Homes, calls “Wizard’s Way.”

The vacation home is designed according to the four houses featured in the “Harry Potter” series: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. As Taylor takes viewers through each bedroom, the attention to detail is impressive — in one room, for example, a bed is fashioned in the form of Arthur Weasley’s Flying Ford Anglia. There’s even a sign above a toilet in one bathroom that reads “Ministry of Magic: This Way” — a reference to the portal that is first seen in the film adaptation of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”

“At our newest, Wizard’s Way, each of the eight bedrooms let you wake up in a carefully recreated setting,” Loma Homes writes on the Airbnb’s description page. “Special effects, custom-carved beds, and ambient sounds + custom mood lighting let you be fully immersed in the HP universe.”

For $307 per night and a minimum stay of four nights, guests can enjoy the house’s other amenities, including a private theater room and a heated pool. If that’s not enough, there’s also a water park, theater room, game room, bar, sand volleyball court and two golf courses on the resort grounds.

According Taylor and Josh, the price is well worth the experience.

“It was a lot of fun,” Josh says in the video. “Definitely a place I think would be great for families or groups of friends to want to really get into the ‘Harry Potter’ theme, maybe have like a ‘Harry Potter’ party.”

In fact, the Airbnb featured in the video is one of many “Harry Potter”-themed homes that have sprung up lately. In 2019, travel blog The Travel listed 10 Airbnbs located throughout the globe — from Massachusetts to the Philippines — that are worth visiting. So, if you’re a “Potterhead,” what are you waiting for? Hop on your broom and fly to the nearest Airbnb for a magical experience (yes, we know — that was incredibly clichéd of us to say).
