Russian model and fashion influencer Katie Westwood is known on Instagram for her punchy, vibrant looks.
Westwood’s bleached, cropped pixie cut allows her to transform with wigs and hair dyes on a regular basis. Unafraid to ger really creative, she often uses her hair as a canvas, like in this recreation of Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night.”
In one clip, Westwood shared her behind-the-scenes process and creates a rainbow hair look using chalk. Starting from the left side she coats sections in orange, yellow, green, blue and teal chalk. The final look is an eye-catching gradient that fits right at home during Pride Month.
The video received over 59,000 likes on Instagram.
“I love it,” one Instagram user wrote.
“You are literally the embodiment of sunshine,” another added.
“I wanna do it on me so bad but it would never look good on you it looks amazing! I bet it feels so nice,” one person wrote.
Hair chalk began to rise in popularity during the mid-2010s. The temporary hair color is a fun way to test new colors or just change up your look every once in a while. All you have to do is rub the chalk on your hair and brush it out. It’s available in both liquids and solids and will last a few hair washes depending on how light your hair already is.
