It’s no secret the fashion industry has been struggling with diversity and inclusion for some time. With the current conversations around racial injustice and equality, brands have been scrambling to show that they support Black lives through public statements and campaigns. But plus-size model Tabria Majors’ Fashion To Figure swimsuit collection was already in the pipeline for a year before this conversation, set to drop on the site one day prior to Juneteenth 2020.
Even if her name isn’t familiar to you, you’ve likely seen Majors across your timelines. The model has been featured as one of the few Black plus-size women in Sports Illustrated. Majors has also modeled for millennial and Gen Z-loved brands including Fashion To Figure, Forever 21 and Fashion Nova. Plus, if you watched the Fenty x Savage Amazon Prime fashion show, she made this iconic moment happen:
Tabria, herself, acknowledges that many know her best from Fashion Nova, a well-known racy brand. And she brought that same unapologetically sexy swag to her swim collection.
“I don’t think I’ve seen a plus-size brand carry a thong bikini before, so that’s why I wanted to include it because I wear it all the time in my personal life,” Majors tells In The Know.
Tabria Majors’ Fashion To Figure collection features 26 swim pieces including not one, but two super cute thong bikinis — one in light blue and another in a black and green duo-chrome. Plus, the line includes cover-up shorts, triangle bikini tops, a hot pink onesie and a plethora of other pieces to give you “bawdy” like Miss Majors.
Black creators often struggle to get clothing collaborations — or even recognition and visibility for that matter. When Black creators do get a collaboration, some, like Majors, make it a priority to uplift other Black creators at the same time. For example, Majors’ swim collection revealed a video that includes her best friend and rapper Mindy‘s song “Heard About Me” to encompass the vibe of the collection.
“It worked perfectly because that intro is like perfect for what this line represents, and I think it just flows so well,” Majors says.
Not only does the swimwear in Tabria Majors’ Fashion To Figure collection look bomb, but all pieces feature four-way stretch fabric with SPF 30 protection. The fabric won’t even wrinkle and shrink in chlorine. Plus, everything ranges from $39.95 to $99.95.
Fashion to Figure specializes in plus-sizes ranging from sizes 0X to 3X or 12-22. However, Majors’ collection was designed to rival smaller-sized swimsuit designs — and the line is doing a damn good job.

Particularly, and according to Majors, this black-caged number is her favorite piece to wear. “I think I would even wear it as a bodysuit,” she says. “It’s very sophisticated — very luxury.”
“Even though Fashion to Figure doesn’t carry small sizes, I wanted everybody to gravitate towards it,” Majors says. “All of my friends were asking, ‘Why can’t you expand and make my size?’ I’m like ‘This isn’t about ya’ll, but knowing that they did like it, I made the right decision.”
