As a beauty editor, these are the products I bought last month

Yes, I still buy beauty products. Religiously and without fail, I’m constantly found on Nordstrom, Kohls, Sephora and Ulta, scouring through the pages on pages of new products and thinking what will eventually end up in my shopping cart.

In order for me to buy a product, I have to really love it — my beauty arsenal can not afford otherwise. Thankfully, I’ve tried and tested all of these products below, and throughout the month of June, I picked up my refills where I could find them.

So, what products does a beauty editor actually stock up on? Here’s a few of the items I bought last month and why I love them:

Shop: The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension, $5.80

Credit: Sephora

One of the reasons for my skin’s healthy, even glow is this product right here. The Ordinary is a brand that I obsessively purchase time after time because of its affordability and product potency. Their vitamin C suspension really helps with dark marks and even light scarring — I like to even use this product on my back or anywhere else I get pesky hormonal acne breakouts and their subsequent scarring.

Shop: Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, $39

Credit: Sephora

Reason two for my skin is this anti-aging wash, which not only has glycolic acid, but also salicylic acid and white oak bark in its formulation. My skin is quite sensitive and the slightest thing can break me out, but this product is gentle enough to treat my acne without drying out my face or making it turn as red as a tomato. I always stock up on this product because I love to use it on my back and anywhere else I get breakouts.

Shop: Epara Skincare Brightening Night Balm, $130

Credit: Saks Fifth Ave

The first time I went to an Epara press launch, I was completely mesmerized by the simplistic packaging that still felt very elevated and luxurious. I won’t lie, this product does hit me deep in my pockets — but every ounce is worth it and the night balm, in particular, is a product where a little goes a long way. Think long-term investment!

Shop: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream, $22+

Credit: Nordstrom

Alright, if you need a budget-friendly option, this facial cream from Kiehl’s may get you right. It’s super light, which makes it great for the morning or night. I especially like that it’s safe for sensitive skin and has a 24-hour lightweight hydrating formula.

Shop: Nars Soft Matte Concealer, $30

Credit: Nordstrom

99 percent of the time, I’m reaching for these soft pots from Nars before going for a foundation. The coverage is definitely buildable and great for covering up dark spots, under-eye circles and blemishes. Just set it with a setting powder if you’re worried about it shifting throughout the day and you’re all set!

Shop: Benefit Cosmetics Badgal Bang! Volumizing Mascara, $25

Credit: Ulta

For people like me who have essentially non-existent eyelashes, this mascara gets into the inner and outer corners like a breeze. The wand is also slightly malleable, which makes it easier for me to work with a steadier hand. I love using this mascara and then pairing it with a thicker one, such as the L’Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes.
