Parents surprise teen with tickets to see ‘Hamilton’

A recent high school graduate received the gift of a lifetime when her parents surprised her with tickets to see “Hamilton” on Broadway.

TikTok user linneathelibra was walking around New York City with her parents in March 2019 when they passed the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where “Hamilton” was playing at the time. (All Broadway shows are currently suspended through January 2021 due to COVID-19.)

As they walked by, Linnea’s mom told her that they had tickets, though the teen was initially skeptical.

“No we don’t. Come on,” Linnea said when her mom tried to tell her that they, in fact, were going to be seeing the show.

“Surprise! We have tickets!” her mom said in response. “We have tickets to ‘Hamilton’! We gotta go back in line.”

“I might cry,” the shocked teen said once she was finally able to process what was going on.

People on TikTok were equally moved by the touching (and expensive!) gift.

“I have chills,” one person said.

“This feeling is so valid wow parents of the century,” another user commented.

“I would simply pass away,” a third “Hamilton” fan joked.

According to Linnea, the “Hamilton” tickets were “an early high school graduation gift” — and a great one at that.

“We were visiting NYC to look at schools, and I actually now attend (and have finished my first year of) college at Pratt Institute!” she told In The Know.
