When it comes to cleaning my small apartment, my cleaning gadgets have to be both efficient and compact — New York City studios don’t have the luxury of storing bulky vacuums and other cumbersome supplies.
I’ve always used a Swiffer mop to clean my hardwood floors on a daily basis, but I recently came across a brand new product that’s game-changing.
Shark is known for its huge selection of traditional vacuums, but when you’re in the need for a smaller device that actually picks up dirt and debris off the ground, the brand’s latest launch, the 2-in-1 Vacmop, is your best bet.
While the new Vacmop has disposable pads like Swiffers, the Vacmop takes cleaning your hard floors to a whole new level — it’s also a full-functioning vacuum with super powerful suction. The Vacmop, like its name suggests, allows you to vacuum and mop (with an included cleaning solution) simultaneously.

To quickly clean any mess, whether it’s hair, dust, spilled liquids or crumbs, the Vacmop picks up what the mop pad cannot. Not only do the disposable pads wipe up any wet area on the floor, but they are also made with a plastic dirt “chamber,” which is where the debris is held. And because of its design, you don’t have to clean up a messy filter or debris tank inside of the vacuum.
With a flexible swivel and front LED lights, you can tackle both those hard-to-reach and hard-to-see spots to ensure your floors throughout the entire space are squeaky clean.
After various messes that I’ve cleaned up while testing the Vacmop, it will vacuum basically anything — I’ve even seen it pick up broken glass!
And when you’ve finished with the cleaning pad or need to refill the multi-purpose cleaning solution that you can spray as you clean, you can release the pad directly into the trash with the push of a button and pour more soap into the attached tank.
And because the Vacmop is cordless, it does come with its own charger that magnetically attaches to the back of the vacuum when the battery is low.
But don’t just take it from me. Even though the Vacmop recently launched, reviewers are already raving that it’s now their top pick for picking up both wet and dry spills off hardwood or tile floors.
One reviewer who said the Vacmop is “well worth it,” also found a way to make their own cleaning solution when they ran out.
“I always had to buy refill cleaning fluid bottles with the Swiffer, but what’s great about the Vacmop is you get to put in whichever cleaning fluid you like,” the shopper said. “I usually put a mixture of Pinesol and warm water, and it does the trick!”
Weighing in at only five pounds, reviewers have also said they are surprised to feel how lightweight the Vacmop is compared to other bulkier vacuum models.
But what customers are really surprised about is the fact that the vacuum actually does have powerful suction, which significantly reduces cleaning time.
“I don’t always get around to leaving product reviews, but I had to for this MopVac. Woah!” another reviewer said. “This thing is a game-changer. I vacuumed and washed my kitchen and living room floors in about five minutes.”
And in case you’re still not convinced that the Vacmop is a small but mighty powerhouse cleaner, be sure to watch the video above to see it in action.
