Welcome to the Love Hotline! Drag queens Jujubee and Thorgy Thor are answering your burning questions about navigating the world of dating. Whether it be over video chat or good old-fashioned letters, your two favorite queens have got you covered with their entertaining “expert” advice!
Dean is back!
If you remember from the first season of Love Hotline, Dean called Thorgy and Jujubee to complain about how he always seems to be attracted to unavailable people.
Thorgy advised Dean to start going on dates with people he might initially say no to — because he can’t go on pursuing straight men with kids.
Now Dean is back because dating is just not working out for him.
“It feels like a chore, right?” Jujubee asks Dean.
“Ugh, you right,” he replies.
“It sounds like you’re not feeling too hot about yourself either,” Thorgy tells him.
“It’s a projection,” Dean explains. “I can give advice and then when it comes to myself, I’m like, oop.“
“It sounds like maybe you need to take some time for yourself and maybe work on yourself,” Thorgy advises.
“You have the opportunity to really get to know yourself and to date yourself and to really expand your horizon of who you are as a person,” Jujubee agrees. “It’s OK not to be OK.”
Dean leaves the call feeling more inclined to take care of himself than just date around. By better knowing himself and getting to know what he wants and needs, it’ll help him in the long run with future relationships.
This week’s anonymous question is about a girlfriend who never reaches for the check or splits the bill. Is this a dealbreaker?
