Ksenia Kisavna is a hair colorist at Cosmos Hair Lab in Moscow. Her signature is what some call moon prism hair or glitch hair. But no matter what you call it, the layered, iridescent-like rainbow hair looks super cool.
The hairstylist shared a video on how she achieves the unconventional look on Instagram. Kisavna’s client starts off with blonde hair. She begins by dyeing the underside section of the customer’s hair red, yellow, blue and orange.
Kisavna then dyes the remaining hair a soft periwinkle. When she’s done the client’s hair looks like a silvery, glowing moon with small strips of rainbow strands peeking out in the back.
Kisavna’s tutorial received 23,000 views on Instagram.
“This is beyond beautiful!” someone commented.
“Incredible work!” one user wrote.
“Perfect! I’m very in love,” another added.
Hidden multicolored hair is a great way to add a unique touch to your look without committing to the whole shebang. When only the underside is dyed it can easily be hidden for things like job interviews or formal events where it may not be so appropriate. There’s also a psychological element to it because humans naturally have personal responses to color.
“By wearing an unnatural hair color, we become digital and attractive in a high-definition way. We connect with colors in life like never before. Sunsets, flowers, trees remind us of our hair color,” celebrity colorist Daniel Moon told Teen Vogue.
