“The FBI is investigating allegations of criminal acts surrounding the incident at Scottsdale Fashion Square in May 2020,” Jill McCabe, a spokesperson for the FBI Phoenix field office, told the Washington Post in a statement.
Paul, a 23-year-old YouTuber with more than 20 million subscribers, was charged with criminal trespass and unlawful assembly months ago after several videos showed him at the Arizona mall while it was being looted.
McCabe also said a search warrant was executed in Las Vegas, but no arrests were immediately planned. She did not disclose any other details.
It’s not clear what type of guns were taken from the house — only that they were large — but Paul has a history of using live firearms, pellet guns and paintball guns, according to Insider.
ABC 7, a local ABC affiliate, obtained overhead footage of law enforcement officers putting the seized guns into the trunk of a sheriff’s vehicle, as well as one gun leaning against a hot tub on the property.
Photographs from TMZ showed FBI agents dressed in camouflage approaching Paul’s mansion.
Paul’s attorney, Richard Schonfeld, acknowledged that the YouTuber’s home was searched and told Reuters that he would cooperate with the federal investigation.
