TikTok is extremely divided over whether or not a ‘salt brush’ is a good idea

As the old saying goes, “There’s a fine line between genius and insanity.”

That’s likely a thought going through many TikTok users’ heads after watching a video shared by a woman named Morgan. Her clip, which has been viewed more than 1 million times, reveals her dad’s extremely divisive eating habit.

His habit, it turns out, is using a paintbrush to literally scrape the salt off his tortilla chips.

Morgan’s video features several close-up shots of her dad’s unconventional snacking method. Needless to say, the concept deeply divided TikTok users.

Many called the brush “ridiculous” or a waste of time — pointing out that unsalted chips are widely available in stores and online.

“I’ve never seen anything like this, but they do make them unsalted,” one user advised.

“Um yes [he’s] 100% the only person to do that,” another added.

“What is this crime against food?” another asked.

Others found the idea totally innovative, insisting that Morgan’s dad was onto something.

“GENIUS, I shall be using this technique as well,” one user wrote.

“Omg I’m gonna get one for my mom,” another added.

Meanwhile, some users simply wanted more info. Many asked whether Morgan’s dad always uses the same brush and if he stores it with his silverware.

Those questions might remain a mystery, but in the meantime it sounds like plenty of TikTok users will be getting their own “salt brushes.”
