Put an end to intrusive targeted ads with this privacy-first search engine

In The Know and OneSearch are part of Verizon Media.

Those of us who have received one too many targeted ads may want to consider OneSearch as a welcome alternative to classic search engines and websites that collect, store and share personal data.

OneSearch, which was launched in January 2020, is the first privacy-focused web search product from Verizon Media that puts users’ privacy first. The tool encrypts all your search terms for an extra level of security and allows you to find exactly what you’re looking for without unwanted ad retargeting.

Typically, your search terms appear in the generated URL, which makes them available for anyone to track or exploit. With OneSearch’s Advanced Privacy Mode, your search terms won’t be spelled out for the entire world to see. On top of that, any links you share with search results will expire in an hour.

OneSearch also doesn’t use cookies or save your search history, so you can say goodbye to constant ads centering around what should be your private searches. For families, there’s even a SafeSearch feature, which will keep adult content out of search results for younger consumers.

OneSearch is currently available in the U.S. across a variety of platforms, including desktop, mobile and tablet web. There’s a OneSearch extension you can add to your browser in order to search in any new tab you open and also a mobile app for iOS and Android you can download to use on your phone.

Check it out here and take back control of your search data today.
