Since her very public breakup with ex-fiancé Pete Davidson in 2018, Ariana Grande hasn’t been linked to anyone publicly. However, that all changed when in February 2020, the singer was spotted kissing a mystery man who was later confirmed to be someone named Dalton Gomez.
So, who is this mysterious Dalton Gomez? Here’s everything we know about Grande’s new beau.
Dalton Gomez is a luxury real estate agent.
Dalton Gomez is a luxury real estate agent based in Southern California, where he grew up. According to his bio page, he serves as the sole buyers agent for Aaron Kirman Group, a highly profitable residential real estate company.
Gomez’s bio page also notes that he “holds one of the largest rolodexes of A-list buyers.” He has represented major sales in the Southern California region, including Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House No. 21 and Craig Ellwood’s Case Study House No. 16.
Gomez’s job as a real estate agent might very well be how he met his girlfriend, pop sensation Ariana Grande. As one sleuthing Arianator pointed out on Twitter, it appears as if Gomez’s company might have helped Grande find and purchase her current home.
Gomez and Ariana Grande secretly dated for months before going public.
According to People, Gomez and Grande quietly started dating far away from the cameras in January 2020.
“[Gomez and Grande] have been hanging out for a couple of months,” an anonymous source later told the publication in March. “Ariana doesn’t want to do another public relationship so she is trying to keep this one quiet, but she seems very happy with Dalton.”
Fans started to suspect that Grande had a new man in her life on Feb. 11, when TMZ captured a photo of the “Thank U, Next” singer smooching a mystery man at a bar.
Not long after this photo made the rounds, Arianators noticed that some of Grande’s closest friends — including her BFF Courtney Chipolone, her choreographer Scott Nicholson and frequent collaborator Njomza — had begun to follow Gomez on Instagram. Evidently, this came after Grande and her crew hung out with Gomez during a game night — and it had fans speculating like wild.
Thankfully, they didn’t have to speculate for long. On March 21, Gomez appeared for the first time on Grande’s Instagram Story — and on March 25, TMZ broke the news that the two were a couple. On May 8, Grande confirmed the relationship herself when Gomez made a cameo as her boyfriend in the official “Stuck with U” music video.
Grande might have written several songs for him.
On Oct. 23, Grande released “Positions,” the title track for her upcoming sixth studio album. Based on the lyrics, many fans believe the song was written about Gomez.
“Heaven sent you to me / I’m just hopin’ I don’t repeat history,” Grande sings on the track. “Perfect, perfect / You’re too good to be true / But I get tired of runnin’, f*** it / Now I’m runnin’ with you.”
On Oct. 30, the singer released the rest of her album, and several of the other (rather explicit) songs seem to be about Gomez as well. Us Weekly even referred to the album as “a love letter to the Grammy winner’s boyfriend.”
Gomez seems to value his privacy.
Unlike most of Grande’s previous boyfriends, Gomez isn’t a fellow celebrity — and as such, he really seems to value his privacy. Since going public with the relationship, Gomez has put his Instagram account on private, and family members often ask Arianators to give the couple some space.
Even Grande herself has said that she wants her relationship to be more private this time around. In an Instagram story on April 9, she wrote, “Sharing special, personal life things that make [you] happy on the internet can be truly traumatic. I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself.”
He has some cool tattoos.
Given how many tattoos Grande has, it’s no surprise that her new beau is also inked up. Though it’s unclear just how many tattoos he has, we do know that his brother — tattoo artist Dakota Gomez — gave him an eagle on his bicep, a Tibetan offering bowl on his arm, a tribute to their grandma on his forearm, a portrait of two stallions on his other bicep and a heart design on his upper bicep.
He has a lot of famous friends.
Ariana Grande isn’t the first famous friend Dalton Gomez has made. In July 2017, Gomez was spotted in the background of Miley Cyrus’ Instagram Story, and they appeared to hang out in the same circle. Gomez was also seen at Scooter Braun’s party celebrating his wife’s U.S. citizenship in February.
