If you’re looking to mix up your usual fast food order, look no further.
Some of the most popular chains in the country actually have a slew of secret menu items. Sure, anyone can order these treats, but you have to know exactly what to ask for. So the next time you want to hit up McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle and other chains, these fast food secret menu items are your best bet.
1. Strawberry and Blueberry Smoothie at Chick-fil-A
This fresh fruit-filled smoothie is typically reserved for Chick-fil-A employees — that is, until worker Antonella Nonone posted it on TikTok. It combines Chick-fil-A’s fruit cups, its milkshakes and its Icedream soft serve.
She did have one warning though: “If you ask for this, they’re probably gonna say no,” she said. “But if you work at Chick-fil-A, I highly recommend it.”
2. Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch at Taco Bell
Another rogue fast food employee shared this secret on TikTok as user alaska55. To get this one-way ticket to Flavor Town, all you have to do is order a classic Cheesy Gordita Crunch and request the taco shell from the Doritos Locos Taco. Mind blown.
3. Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich at Chick-fil-A
Customers love the Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Chick-fil-A, but some have craved a healthier grilled alternative. Thankfully, there is one on the secret menu: Ask for a chicken patty grilled in spicy seasoning with pepper jack cheese plus some Sweet & Spicy Sriracha to kick up the heat. Most Chick-fil-A workers will whip this up if you use its secret name: the “Spicy Char.”
4. Nachos at Chipotle
It’s almost a little crazy that Chipotle doesn’t sell loaded nachos, considering they’ve got all the ingredients just sitting there. But that doesn’t mean you can’t create your own. All you have to do is order a burrito bowl and ask for chips instead of rice. Genius.
5. Big McChicken at McDonald’s
This specialty secret menu item is for serious meat lovers. Order a standard Big Mac and sub the buns for McChicken patties. Yeah, you read that correctly!
6. Pickle-O’s at Sonic
Some Sonic employees might know exactly what you mean when you order the now-discontinued “Pickle-O’s” — but if they’re uninitiated, just request battered and deep-fried pickles.
7. Pokémon Frappuccino at Starbucks
Starbucks sold limited-run Pokémon-themed drinks in 2016 — and fortunately, they’ve still got the ingredients to make the Pokémon Go Frappuccino. Just tell your barista you want a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with raspberry syrup and dried berries.
8. Patty Melt at Five Guys
For this hearty meal, ask for a grilled cheese sandwich with hamburger patties (and any of your favorite toppings). Five Guys uses burger buns for its grilled cheeses, so be sure to ask them to grill the buns.
9. Animal Style Fries at In-N-Out
These loaded “animal-style” fries are topped with In-N-Out’s Famous Sauce, a slice of melted cheese and grilled onions. Given how delicious and popular they are, it’s shocking they’re not on the official menu yet!
10. Barnyard Burger at Wendy’s
There are actually two ways to request this secret menu item at Wendy’s. You can order an Asiago Ranch Chicken Club with a burger patty, or, for a spicier version, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with bacon, a burger patty and cheese.
