When it comes to Bluetooth speakers, there seems to be a blueprint that most manufacturers follow. It’s like they had a conference call and collectively decided to only offer speakers in black and gray. And when it comes to shape, rectangular is often the go-to look.

Well, the folks at Urbanears, known for making some of the most stunning and modern tech pieces today, flipped this philosophy on its head with its Rålis Bluetooth speaker. As one reviewer put it, it’s simply a “piece of art.”

Bridging the gap between style and function, the Rålis is the perfect portable speaker for both home and away. Not only that, but it’s currently on sale for $70 off its original retail price.

Don’t let this speaker’s strikingly fashion-forward design fool you. It also packs a significant punch in the sound department.

I’ve been testing out this bad boy for a week, and I can attest to its powerhouse sound. When stacking it up against the likes of the JBL Charge 4 and even the iconic Marshall Stanmore II, the Rålis held its own — even outshined the JBL in both bass and clarity.

The Rålis, available in four gorgeous colors, also holds true to its 20-plus hours of wireless playtime, and even lives up to its IPX2 water-resistance rating. Yes — I’ve taken it into the shower to test this claim and it passed with flying colors.

A simple feature the Rålis boasts that even several high-end Bluetooth speakers lack is navigation buttons (play, pause, next track, previous track and volume) on the device. This defeats the need to revert to your phone to adjust these settings.

Two features that many are sure to enjoy are its multi-host play and power bank capabilities. These features allow for up to two devices to connect to the speaker via Bluetooth, and make it easy to use the speaker as a power bank to charge your phone.

Don’t just take my word for it. Shoppers have also been praising this speaker for its sound quality and design.

The sound is balanced with great crispy highs, great mids and punchy lows,” one shopper wrote with another adding, “You will never be disappointed.”

The only con I personally experienced is an audible alert every few minutes when the battery is running low. But that can simply be resolved by just charging the device. At least it warns you, right?
