JoJo Siwa and her once-secret boyfriend have called it quits, but it seems her fans are taking it a bit harder than she is.
On Aug. 2, the YouTube star and former Dance Moms regular shared a TikTok announcing her relationship with Mark Bontempo â on National Girlfriend Day, no less!
The relationship evidently didn’t last long, though. According to the @tiktokroom Instagram account, Siwa left a comment on a post about the split on Nov. 17 in which she confirmed that she and Bontempo were no longer together.
âYou have NO idea about Mark and Iâs relationship. How much fun it was. How happy we both were, how happy we both are. We decided itâs best for us not to be in a relationship ⌠thatâs all,” she wrote.
She also asked her fans to stop posting “hateful things” about him.
âIf you donât wanna follow him like the millions of other people on instagram you donât follow, thatâs fine, but this post is immature,â she added. âHe is not toxic. Weâre teenagers. And our relationship just didnât work out right now … weâre better just being friends.â
The 17-year-old is no stranger to dealing with haters, but she always does so with grace.
Commenters showed their support for her approach to the whole situation.
“Every breakup doesn’t have to be toxic,” one user wrote.
“I love JoJo she’s so mature,” another said.
“Maturity at its peak,” a third wrote.
