Who is Patrick Starrr? The makeup guru just launched his first podcast

Beauty guru Patrick Simondac, also known as Patrick Starrr, has over 12 million followers on social media.

The YouTuber successfully launched his channel in 2013 after becoming a self-taught makeup artist. He became interested in makeup as a former photographer after learning to Photoshop his client’s photos.

Fast forward to 2020, Patrick has since launched his own beauty brand ONE/SIZE at Sephora and has had some major celebrity collaborations with Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba and Naomi Campbell.

Patrick Starrr is a pioneering beauty guru.

Starrr is of Filipino heritage and identifies as gay. In an essay for CNN, he wrote that that wearing makeup in Orlando, especially when very few men were wearing it online, was still difficult.

It was still pretty scary to wear makeup publicly where I grew up in Orlando, Florida,” Starrr said in the piece. “I didn’t want to be bullied. I didn’t want to embarrass my family or parents. The last thing I wanted was to be discriminated against in public.”

Despite receiving backlash from bigots, Starrr managed to become a powerhouse in the beauty community with 4.5 million Instagram followers and 4.4 million YouTube subscribers at press time.

How old is Patrick Starrr?

Starrr is 31 years old, according to Famous Birthdays. He was born on November 11, 1989 in Orlando.

He has a makeup line called ONE/SIZE and has collaborated with MAC in the past.

Starrr previously had a partnership with MAC but launched ONE/SIZE, a gender-inclusive makeup line, in July 2020.

“Makeup, I believe, is truly ‘one size fits all’ — it’s a saying that has become my mantra. I grew up in the era where Christy Turlington, Christie Brinkley, Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima were plastered all over cosmetic ads. But now I am too. The public will see a bald Filipino man in L’Oréal, Covergirl, MAC and Benefit cosmetic campaigns — and to think that’s me!” Starrr wrote on CNN.

Celebrity collaborations

Starrr is known for giving celebrities makeovers on his YouTube channel. Some have included Paris Hilton, Katy Perry and Tyra Banks.

He just launched his first podcast.

In November 2020, Starrr debuted his first podcast Say Yas to the Guest on Dear Media. The series will include conversations between Starrr and his famous friends and how they’ve achieved success. Some guests include Jackie Aina, Manny MUA and Nikita Dragun
