Netflix users dumbfounded by woman’s ‘secret’ movie-watching hack: ‘This is a life-changer’

A Netflix movie hack is earning plenty of love online, and it’s easy to see why.

The hack, which first went viral on TikTok, makes browsing for movies on the streaming service a lot easier. Instead of scouring through the seemingly random page of movie recommendations, just use a “secret” code.

As TikTok user @caseyyisfetchh explains in her viral video, the Netflix codes are basically advanced search terms. By typing them into the service’s search bar, you can access a list of hyper-specific movie genres, instead of the broad “comedy” and “action” categories you might normally see.

For example, there are codes for basically every type of horror movie — meaning you can search for just zombie films, vampire films or “teen screams.” The codes are easily accessible online, but thanks to @caseyyisfetchh, millions of TikTok users are just discovering them.

To use the codes, simply type the numbers into your Netflix search bar. The number will automatically bring up a list of movies and TV shows that fit the sub-genre, whether it’s “boxing movies,” “Disney musicals” or “gangster movies.” For parents, you can even search for children’s movies by age range.

You can find a full list of the codes here or by taking a look at this guide, which @caseyyisfetchh also showed in her video.

As the list points out, you can also use the Netflix codes by including them in your search URL. For example, if you want to find a list of crime dramas, go to www.Netflix.com/browse/genre/6889.

TikTok users seemed largely excited about the Netflix movie hack, with many praising @caseyyisfetchh for sharing the info.

“This is a life-changer,” one user wrote.

“No way there’s this many movies,” another added.

“Why the heck don’t they advertise that?” another wrote.
