Just when you thought Rihanna had completely transformed beauty, she drops the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Powder Foundation. Plus, we tried it, and we know it’s legit.

Beauty lovers know that powder has long-lived as one of the trickiest formulations when it comes to foundation. Frequently, users don’t achieve enough coverage, it can look cakey, and if your skin is of a deep, dark or rich complexion, there are few brands with accommodating shades on the market as it is. Naturally, Rihanna came through with the remedy that is the Fenty Beauty powder foundation.

The powders, offered in the same 50 shades, come in a compact with a mirror and a small powder puff. However, you can use any of the foundation brushes to apply it, including the Full-Bodied Foundation Brush and the Kabuki Buff Foundation Brush.

Testing out that new #fentybeauty powder foundation. I’m very much here for it #beauty #fentybeautyfoundation #makeup

Trying it for myself (I’m shade 445), I realized that you have to do your makeup routine somewhat backward when using it.. I first applied the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Primer and then the Pro Filt’r  Concealer (I use shade 430) and all the areas I would normally highlight my face after a liquid foundation. The Fenty Beauty powder foundation is one of the last things to go on the face because you don’t want the concealer’s creamy consistency to separate the powder.

Ultimately, this powder feels like you aren’t wearing a thing on your face. It’s super lightweight to where you only feel the brush, but you can build up enough coverage as if you were wearing a liquid base.

Considering it took RiRi three years to make this weightless bad boy, the wait was well worth it.
