80-year-old’s ‘magic trick’ charms TikTok

One grandma is showing TikTok isn’t just for Gen Z.

Rosa, an 80-year-old from Spain, posts on the platform as conbuenhumor — “with good humor” in English — with her grandson, Christian. The duo has amassed 5.3 million followers, largely because of Rosa’s antics. This abuela definitely loves a good prank.

In August, Rosa one-upped Christian’s playful teasing and made a splash.

Christian dabs her with whipped cream in the clip. Then she shoves his face into a whole plate of it. He taps her with a pillow. She hits him with a broom. He spritzes her with water. Rosa pushes him into the pool. This is the hilarious dynamic the pair’s followers have come to expect.

One of their most popular videos features Rosa all by herself. The grandmother attempts a magic trick and it’s a total fail.

A bespectacled Rosa removes her eyeglasses. In front of her is a large bottle of iced tea with no lid. The grandma tries to shove her glasses into the container but they don’t fit. She then covers the front of the bottle with her hand so that it appears the glasses have gone inside. But she’s very clearly just holding the glasses behind the bottle.

She then pretends to pull the glasses out of the bottle. But again, her hand is clearly just behind the bottle. Rosa pulls out a pair of sunglasses this time. She puts them on and smiles. Trick complete!

The magic fail racked up over 5 million views on TikTok. Most people were charmed by Rosa as usual.

“Grandma, your magic is so powerful. Can you do more magic in the future?” one TikTok user joked

“Too obvious, haha,” another said

“Wow. You are really a magician,” someone else wrote
