Alex Trebek has been a staple on most TVs since he began hosting beloved quiz show Jeopardy! in 1984. Known for his kind demeanor and quick wit (and the occasional portrayal on Saturday Night Live), the Canadian-American host had fans all over the world.
Trebek died at 80 years old on Nov. 8 after a battle with pancreatic cancer and will be sorely missed around the globe. If you were a part of his massive fanbase, then you will probably appreciate the book that he released this past summer, aptly titled, “The Answer Is…: Reflections on My Life.”
In response to the love and support he received after publicly sharing his 2019 cancer diagnosis, Trebek said of the book, “I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year.”
According to its description on Amazon, “The book combines illuminating personal anecdotes with Trebek’s thoughts on a range of topics, including marriage, parenthood, education, success, spirituality and philanthropy.”
“Trebek also addresses the questions he gets asked most often by Jeopardy! fans, such as what prompted him to shave his signature mustache, his insights on legendary players like Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer, and his opinion of Will Ferrell’s Saturday Night Live impersonation.”
Jeopardy! fans will be pleased to know that the book follows the same structure as the game show — each chapter title is in question form.
