In a video, entertainer Deanna Giulietti explained to her 1.1 million TikTok followers that she hasn’t gotten a haircut since before the pandemic, so she was “in really high spirits” and “had a lot of energy” when she arrived at the salon.
When she got to her appointment, Giulietti explained to her stylist that she wanted “crazy feathered angles” — something super dramatic. After almost a year without a haircut, she wanted to have fun.
At first, Giulietti said that she and the hairdresser were having a normal conversation about what she wanted to do with her hair. Eventually, though, she said he started “getting really frustrated,” and that’s when things got weird.
“[He] goes behind the counter and has a hushed conversation like he doesn’t wanna deal with me, doesn’t want me there,” she explained. “Another hairdresser comes over and was like, ‘I’m gonna be taking over.’ I just start hysterically crying. I was like, ‘What did I do?'”
Many of Giulietti’s followers were supportive in the comments and noted that even if the hairdresser was having a bad day, he shouldn’t have taken it out on his clients.
“This dude clearly was having a moment and should NOT have been dealing with customers,” one person said. “I’m so sorry this made you feel like this.”
“You didn’t do anything,” another added. “That’s so hurtful. I’m so sorry. I’m a low energy person but I always try to match that beautiful energy from ppl like you.”
In a follow-up video, Giulietti explained that though she understands that the hairdresser’s actions had nothing to do with her, she still found it hard not to take them personally.
“I know that it wasn’t what I did, obviously it just must’ve been something going on with him or whatever and I shouldn’t take it personally but it’s hard to, because I was so excited and I don’t know what I did wrong,” she said.
Thankfully, Giulietti is at a point now where she’s making jokes on TikTok about the whole situation and her split ends. Hopefully she finds someone who can give her the perfect haircut and appreciate her unbridled enthusiasm.
