The same day Apple announced the new iPhone 14 lineup, it unveiled its most advanced and highly anticipated smartwatch release yet: the Apple Watch Series 8. Packed with so many new features like the crowd-favorite always-on retina display, 20% more screen area compared to previous models, the option of a larger 45mm case and more, this is the smartwatch everyone’s trying to get their hands on.
Apple Watch Series 8, $379-$749
One of the best parts about owning an Apple Watch is interchanging the tons of watch bands to make it fit your personal style or complement your outfit perfectly. We’ve tested a few and handpicked the seven best options to buy for the new smartwatch.
Keep in mind that these watch bands are also compatible with previous models, so if you don’t have an Apple Watch Series 8 but have one of the recently released versions from previous years, these will also fit perfectly. Just be sure to select your watch’s correct case size when purchasing.
These high-quality Apple Watch bands come from trusted brands like Nomad Goods, CASETiFY and, of course, Apple, with materials ranging from high-grade titanium and stainless steel to rubber and waterproof leather.
Take a look at the seven best bands to buy for the new Apple Watch Series 8 below.
1. Nomad Sport Slim Band, $59.95
If you’re looking for something that’s affordable, extremely lightweight and ideal for everyday use and outdoor activities, the Nomad Sport Slim Band is the perfect pick. I compared this band to Apple’s standard Sport Band and found that Nomad’s rubber Sport Slim Band had a much more secure wrist fit, didn’t slide down my wrist after a few hours of wear time and, most surprisingly, actually fit the watch case much more securely.
So, if you need an Apple Watch band that’s reliable, secure, affordable and extremely versatile, the Nomad Sport Slim Band is the one to buy. Choose from two sizes (45 mm/49 mm or 40 mm /41 mm) and five colors.
2. Nomad Active Band Pro, $79.95
Those who want the elegance and sophistication of leather with the versatility and ease of rubber will love Nomad’s Active Band Pro. It’s built with an advanced hybrid construction of waterproof leather and FKM rubber, making it perfect for every occasion, from a weekend hike to a date night.
What sets this band apart from other leather bands on the market is its 100% waterproof material. If you submerge this band in water, the leather won’t damage, fray or prune. Choose from two colors (black or classic brown), two sizes (45 mm/49 mm or 40 mm/41 mm) or two hardware colors (black or silver).
3. Apple Leather Link Watch Band, $99
Apple’s bands generally aren’t the best, but there are a few that are so well-designed that they surpass my expectations. The Apple Leather Link Watch Band is one of those that’s a 10/10 in both construction, design, aesthetic and fit.
This watch band feels as luxe as it looks and is one of the easiest to put on and take off. The strap elegantly wraps around the wrist and seamlessly attaches with flexible molded magnets that gently flex to ensure that it remains secure and comfy throughout the day.
Choose from six different colors and four sizes.
There are so many stainless steel watch bands that are so well made that they look like actual silver or gold. However, if you choose one that’s poorly made, it tends to look cheap. The best-selling CASETiFY Stainless Steel Watchband falls in the former category and remains one of the best, sturdiest and most luxe-feeling watch bands I’ve ever worn.
It’s made of premium stainless steel, is both water and sweat resistant and fits several different Apple Watch case sizes ranging from 38 mm to 49 mm. What I love most about this watch band, though, is that it comes in five different colors/color combos, with the two-tone yellow gold/silver color (pictured above) being a customer favorite.
5. Nomad Titanium Band, $299.95
When looking for a metal link bracelet band, nothing beats the elegance, durability and quality of titanium. This one from Nomad is built from Grade 2 Titanium and has an advanced Diamond-Like Carbon coating to ensure that, while it’s well-built and designed, it remains as light as possible.
It also has a custom magnetic clasp, is scratch-resistant and comes with a tool for you to adjust the length to fit your wrist perfectly. Choose from two colors (silver and black) and two sizes (45 mm/49 mm or 40 mm/41 mm).
You’ve likely heard of Apple’s Hermès Double Tour bands that retail for almost $500. Though stunning, these bands are pretty out of reach for some. For those who want the look for much cheaper, the CASETiFY 2-in-1 Italian Leather Watch Band Kit With Double Tour and Single Strap is the perfect pick. In fact, it looks almost identical to the designer Hermès version.
CASETiFY’s watch band is made of premium genuine leather, has interchangeable single and double tour straps in one kit and is the world’s first universal watch scrap that fits other watches — not just the Apple Watch. This band comes in three colors and seven sizes ranging from 38 mm to 49 mm.
7. Apple Milanese Loop Watch Band, $99
The Apple Milanese Loop Watch Band is another of my favorites. It’s quickly become my go-to everyday watch band. In fact, I’m wearing it right now! This classic band has a very clean and simple aesthetic that goes with everything and is a modern interpretation of a design first developed in Milan at the end of the 19th century.
It’s a smooth, stainless steel mesh that wraps fluidly around your wrist and secures snugly with a magnetic closure that just rests on the band. Choose from three colors (silver, graphite or gold) and two sizes (41 mm or 45 mm).
