My fall and winter wardrobe is narrowed down to a few key pieces. There’s my cozy sweaters, high-waisted jeans (Levi 501s are my go-to), leather pants and — last but not least — an epic pair of black boots that make me appear cooler than I actually am.
There’s just something about black combat boots that can elevate even the most simple of outfits. Whether you style them for everyday with leggings or pair with a dress, the leather lace-up boots instantly add an element of edge to your look. Not to mention most styles will help you brave the snow, rain and all the other unpredictable weather that comes your way.
Combat boots are of course nothing new, but thanks to Bottega Venetta and Prada’s always-sold-out runway styles (which seem to be taking over the closets of every celebrity and fashion blogger), there’s no avoiding this shoe trend this season.
According to Lyst’s latest data drop, “Searches for combat and stomper boots have increased 69 percent. Demand for the style is increasing especially for men, where searches for the combat boots have increased by 99 percent in the last four weeks. Searches for women increased by 53 percent in the same period of time. Prada is by far the most-wanted brand for both men and women.”
