Yes, even dads need a bit of a beauty routine.

Oftentimes, dads aren’t spotted perusing down a beauty aisle. While people may think it’s just a simple overgeneralization like, “Oh, well men don’t even use skincare products,” I’m inclined to believe it’s really because a lot of makeup and beauty brands don’t actively cater to men. Oop.

The weirdest part — at least to this beauty editor — is although there is still a major taboo that exists around men’s skincare, the men’s beauty industry itself is growing. In 2014, the male grooming market was valued at $6 billion in the U.S. alone and $33 billion globally, according to Racked. And if you’re thinking those numbers are all coming from razors and hair maintenance, think again: That same study showed that 43 percent of American men used skincare products that included moisturizers, anti-aging creams, eye gels, luxury facial cleansers and concealers.

Even though the men’s grooming market is growing year over year, there are still many men — my father included — who think that all they need is some water and bar soap *eye twitch*. The best beauty products for men, especially for those with beards and facial acne, are quite easy to find … if you know what to look for.

Skincare for men remains largely absent in many households, and that ends today. While your dad may not be ready for an entire Korean skincare routine, he may be open to a skincare starter pack: A good cleanser, an exfoliator and a great moisturizer. Easy, right?

With Father’s Day around the corner, there are plenty of items you can buy dad or that special person in your life to help them build a beauty arsenal. Nordstrom currently has quite a few items, along with Sephora and Ulta, that won’t set you back more than $50.
