Think about it: the idea of plush footwear is usually reserved for women. But who says men can’t enjoy the same luxury? Providing the perfect answer to this question, Birkenstock gave its classic men’s slide sandal a warm, shearling-covered makeover, and I can confirm that it’s worth the splurge.
While Birkenstocks are known for their minimalistic-yet-rugged design, the brand warmed up its most classic silhouette by adding genuine Australian shearling linings and rich suede uppers for a cloud-like, plush feel.
These cushioned slides come available in three colors (night, mink suede and black) and are perfect for all-day wear while working from home, lounging around your apartment or even running a quick errand or two.
Personally, these have been my go-to slippers while working from home. They provide the perfect level of comfort and warmth now that the cold weather is officially in full swing.
In addition to being superior in the comfort department, these Birkenstock shearling slides provide optimal traction and practicality. Their soft air-cushioned cork midsoles and textured EVA outsoles offer a sturdy grip while walking.
I’m not the only one who’s in love with these. Zappos shoppers also can’t stop raving about these slides, with several men gushing that they are perfect for those who have narrow or wide feet.
“I have wide, fattish feet and it’s hard to find a comfortable shoe,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “These are my all-time favorite shoe, year-round.”
The only minor con a few shoppers have for these sandals is that it’s easy to miss the width selection menu when shopping. So, be sure to select “narrow” or “regular” if you have a preference.
