Why have just one dessert for your birthday when you can have an entire board filled with confectionary goodies? With the mouthwatering assortment of festive cupcakes, cookies and chocolates, among other tasty treats, it’s no wonder snack boards are taking over TikTok! If you’re looking for some sweet inspiration to celebrate your most recent journey around the sun, you’ll definitely want to party with these five birthday dessert board recipes.
1. Carnival birthday dessert board
This dessert board takes the cake to the carnival! The spread features a few cupcakes riding a Ferris wheel. Situated to the left of the Ferris wheel is a carousel of cotton candy and lollipops, while pink rock candy sticks are arranged in a glass on the right. An assortment of pastel candies, animal cookies, candy orange slices, Hershey’s kisses and powdered donuts are scattered throughout the carnival board.
2. Birthday number dessert board
Arranging a tasty mélange of treats in the shape of the birthday number makes for a creative and easy presentation. TikToker @homebody.eats uses a cut-out of the birthday number as the board before arranging a variety of cupcakes, marshmallow cubes, cookie dough balls, macarons, chocolate-covered pretzels and chocolate-covered strawberries over it. They fill any gaps on the number with raspberries and a few lilac blooms.
3. Ice cream sundae dessert board
Ice cream sundaes are a birthday party staple, so why not update the tradition with an ice cream sundae board? Start by placing several bowls filled with mini Oreos, strawberries, honey Teddy Grahams, M&M’s, gummy bears, Rolos, Nerds and sprinkles around the left side of the board. Then line up a stack of waffle cone bowls, cake cones and sugar cones, followed by caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Finally, put two tubs of ice cream in a plastic container with ice, and place them next to the cones and toppings to finish off the board.
4. Beach-themed dessert board
Thanks to this beach-themed candy board, you can have a birthday beach day no matter what time of year it is. TikToker @ainttooproudtomeg begins by covering a rectangular wooden board with a cluster of blue M&M’s. Next, she places a few ropes of green licorice on the bottom of the board to symbolize seaweed. Then she organizes starfish and lobster gummies throughout the licorice seaweed before adding a variety of fish gummies around the blue M&M’s. For a fun finishing touch, she places a series of Teddy Grahams sunbathing on chewy rainbow candies on top of the board, representing the ocean’s surface.
5. Rainbow candy dessert board
A rainbow dessert board will surely bring a smile to anyone’s face. This board involves a medley of candy organized in a rainbow gradient on a round tray. A single giant rainbow lollipop serves as the focal point for the variety of licorice, gumdrops, jelly beans, Starbursts and Dots, among other chewy delights.
