Among the measures put in place throughout 2020 to lessen the spread of COVID-19, wearing a mask sits pretty high on that list. In fact, according to the CDC, the latest science affirms that “cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19.”

With this in mind, several brands and retailers (both small businesses and large retailers) have produced their fair share of cloth face masks. However, as most of us have learned, they are not all made equally.

After trying a handful myself, I’ve found that Black-owned brand Henry face masks are, by far, the most comfortable, stylish and durable options I’ve worn to date. Plus, my glasses rarely fog up when I wear them for long periods. And the small business’ celebrity-loved-turned-cult-favorite face masks are now available at Nordstrom!

Available in a variety of colors and patterns, Henry’s pleated non-woven face masks feature three-ply construction and are both washable and reusable.

Also, to avoid any movement or fit issues, each mask comes with an additional back strap to ensure a snug and comfortable fit. The packaging is also top-tier, with each mask coming individually-housed in a thick sealed, bag for storage when the mask is not in use. The bag can also fit in any purse or even your pocket.

These have become my masks of choice for the past two months as, in addition to being comfortable to wear for extended periods, they’re easy on the eyes and seamlessly cover my nose without budging.

My glasses also tend to stay put and not slide off my face when I’m wearing them over these masks.

Fellow In The Know Commerce Editor Ari Bines is also a fan of these Black-owned masks and appreciates the mask’s versatility that suits the wearer’s comfort preferences.

“The masks legit let me breathe better,” she said. “This is the mask I reach for every time I go to the grocery store. You can wear it three different ways, so it doesn’t tug on the ears.”

Bines also shared that these masks do not cause any friction while wearing products underneath for targeting “maskne.”

“With maskne going around, it holds my Masquebar Shield & Soothe Hydrogel PPE Facial Under Mask perfectly,” she added.

Henry was co-founded by celebrity tailor Patrick Henry (professionally known as “Fresh”), who has worked in the luxury tailoring industry for over a decade.

Almost immediately after Henry launched, COVID-19 hit new highs in the United States and the masks became a celebrity-favorite and have been worn by the likes of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Karrueche Tran, Russell Westbrook and more.

Besides providing a stylish and comfortable face mask option, the brand is doing its part in giving back to those in need. For every mask sold, one will be donated to healthcare workers and families in need.
