I can’t stop raving about my new electric kettle. It’s so sleek and good-looking, plus there are different settings depending on what I need hot water for. Everyone I talk to is always so intrigued by this electric kettle — until I reveal that I paid $200 for it.

But hear me out: This electric kettle really is worth the splurge. As an avid tea drinker, I’ve been through my fair share of kettles, and this one is easily the best — no competition.

Breville Variable Temp Luxe Kettle Review

I live in a small-ish apartment that doesn’t have much kitchen storage space, so aesthetics are important to me because most of my kitchen gadgets are out for everyone to see. Like it or not, looks are important, which is one reason why this electric kettle is pricier than others. It just looks so good. I’d say it actually looks even better IRL than on the computer screen.

Visual appeal aside, this electric kettle doesn’t disappoint if you’re a tea drinker like me. I have at least one cup every day, sometimes more, and this kettle boils water so quickly and quietly. If I’m making green tea, the water is often ready by the time I get my mug from the cabinet and add the tea bag, sugar and lemon. It really is that speedy.

What makes this electric kettle extra swanky is the different settings. Different teas should be steeped in water at different temperatures, and this kettle offers options for green and white tea, black and herbal tea, plus oolong, too. There’s even a setting for French press if you’re making coffee.

Using this Breville Variable Temp Luxe Kettle is super easy and intuitive. After you fill the kettle, simply set it on the base, choose your temperature and press start. Within a few minutes, a gentle beep will let you know your water is ready. It’s really as easy as that.

Aside from tea, I’ve also used my kettle to boil water for instant ramen (no judgment), and it’s just as quick and efficient at the highest setting for that, too.

Given how well-designed and effective the Breville Variable Temp Luxe Kettle is, I have no regrets about splurging on it. I use it multiple times a day, and it’s reliable and efficient every time. If you boil water often, you totally need this electric kettle in your kitchen.
