Bushwick renter Sarah is looking to upgrade to a spacious 2-bedroom apartment

On this episode of In The Know: Find My Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Sarah find a spacious 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Sarah is looking for ample space to both host her friends and work from home, and is working with a budget of about $3,200 a month. Sarah is looking to stay in Brooklyn, preferably in the neighborhoods of Bushwick or Bed-Stuy, and would love to be close to a park or any sort of outdoor space. Let’s see if Will can help Sarah find her perfect Brooklyn abode!

The first unit Will shows Sarah is a 2-bedroom apartment renting for $3,000 a month. Sarah, who loves to cook and host her friends, likes that the kitchen opens up into the common space. Plus, the kitchen has a dishwasher, which will make post-dinner party cleanup much easier! The first bedroom, while on the smaller size, has enough space to operate as both a guest room and a home office. Sarah also likes that the spacious second bedroom gets a ton of natural light.

Apartment number two is a 1-bedroom with a monthly rent of $3,000. Sarah is immediately impressed with the unit’s high ceilings, and the interesting details built into the walls. Sarah also likes the spacious kitchen, which has tons of counter space and cabinets. Through pocket doors is the bedroom, which is big enough to double as an office. The bathroom is also very large with updated hardware, which Sarah views as a highlight.

Up next on Will’s list is a 2-bedroom unit priced slightly over-budget at $3,500. The massive split-level apartment has a private outdoor space, which Sarah loves. The open plan kitchen/dining area is flooded with natural light, as is the first bedroom, which has direct access to the outdoor space. Down a spiral staircase is a spacious room which can be used as a bedroom, flex space, or home office.

One month later, Sarah reveals that she ended up going with apartment number three! Sarah loves that the spacious split-level home has separate spaces for working and living, and she’s looking forward to making the space her own!
