There’s no question who the breakout star of Bravo’s latest Real Housewives franchise is, and it’s Chanel Ayan.

The boundary-breaking model with an infectious personality and undeniable sense of humor has taken the Bravo world by storm during her time on The Real Housewives of Dubai, and she’s showing no signs of slowing down.

In a recent episode of In The Know’s pop culture interview series, We Should Talk, Ayan opened up about what it’s been like doing her first season of reality TV, spilled some tea about her contentious relationships with Caroline Stanbury and Caroline Brooks, why her friendship with Lesa Milan is so strong and what she expects from the upcoming reunion.

On Caroline Brooks and Nina Ali calling her the ‘thirstiest’ cast member: I will respond to that like this: If I’m the thirstiest one, why am I not on social media 24/7? Because that’s where you need to be if you’re really that thirsty. Brooks, you’re the thirstiest! You talk to only seven people on the internet on Spaces. That’s about it. I’m good here; I’m used to this. The difference between me and Brooks is I’ve been in the fashion industry. I’m used to attention. I’m used to all these things. She’s a brand-new person who’s never seen a camera in her face in her life. I’m used to being on camera. That’s the biggest difference between the two of us, but yeah — thanks for all the publicity that you gave me, honey! I heard it was amazing and heard it was all “Ayan, Ayan, Ayan, Ayan.” I appreciate it.

On her friendship with Lesa Milan: Lesa is not really thinking for me. That’s really the honest truth. I just think that we’re so close, we love each other, we respect each other, we care about each other, and we are genuine friends. We treat each other with respect, while other people don’t know how to treat each other. There’s no loyalty. That can rub people the wrong way because they don’t have that and don’t understand that. Lesa and I are good; we are like sisters. I love her so much, and we have a respect with each other. What’s wrong with thinking about and for each other? I would love to have a friend to think for me, like, “What should I say?” I don’t see what’s wrong with it.

On trying to salvage a relationship with Caroline Stanbury: It’s not going to last. We tried! We really did try, but I really want you to watch it. We did try, but we don’t get along most of the time. There’s a lot of things about her that I actually respect and admire. A lot. She has “tiki tiki” all the time!

On being a fan-favorite on the show: I’m just being myself. I go with the flow, because life is very interesting. I don’t take myself very seriously, which I think makes myself a happier person. I just go with the flow! […] It’s quite impressive, and I’m really honored by that. I didn’t think it would be like this. I just said “I’m going to be myself,” because I’m funny, I’m silly, I’m a good mom, I’m friendly. I’m going to be myself, but I didn’t know it would turn out like this where people actually enjoyed it and loved seeing me like that. That makes me feel so happy and so special. […] I’m having the time of my life.
