If you are influenced even the slightest bit (and let’s face it, we all are) by what people on your Instagram feed are wearing, there’s a good chance you own Choosy’s white Crosby St. dress — or have at least thought about adding it to your cart.
A search of “Choosy white dress” on Google generates more than 25 million results, so it’s no surprise that the dress had to be restocked more than 17 times on the brand’s site. Fashion insiders will be the first to point out that the Crosby dress strikes an obvious resemblance to Simon Porte’s La Robe Jacquemus dress, however the $555 price difference makes the deciding factor quite clear.
The silhouette is a sexy approach to the classic Oxford shirt dress. Featuring a deep plunging neckline with the same down-style collar and a twisted front detail that hits in all the right places, this $75 dress (on sale for $60!) is the epitome of versatile.
All the way from the jungles of Tulum to Houston and Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the Crosby dress has been around the world and back — even making it into the closets of Sophie Turner and Stephanie Shepherd (Think: the sisterhood of the traveling dress for all of the coolest people you know).
Choosy’s unique direct-to-consumer strategy is the first of its kind, perfectly infusing the elements of social media, analytics and customer feedback way before an item makes it into production.
“We’re here to listen to what you want to wear and then make it for you, rather than tell you what you want to wear and then sell it to you,” the company explains.
The production process goes as follows: First, an algorithm analyzes which styles are trending on social platforms. From there, Choosy receives feedback from customers about which trends they’re currently loving via polls and comments. And lastly, these styles are produced, with new product drops every month.
In The Know took a tour of Choosy’s New York City offices and got a first look at the brand’s newest dress hue just in time for the holidays — a perfect ruby red jewel tone.
