I could never see myself in a suit — until Commando made one

An all-black suit is a staple in a lot of people’s wardrobes for good reason. It’s professional, it can be styled in a ton of ways and, if you get a timeless cut, it’s something you can wear year after year.

And while I knew all of that, I could never see myself wearing a suit. In my mind, suits were stuffy, boxy, had to be taken to the dry cleaner and were way too serious for a shopping editor to wear. It’s even a running joke in my family that I don’t own any type of pants except for jeans.

But when Commando launched its CEO collection (which stands for ‘chic easy outfit,’ in this case), my view on suits totally changed.

Now to give you the full picture, Commando has been a staple in my wardrobe for years due to the brand’s amazing leggings and intimates selection. They’re the company behind the beloved faux leather leggings that I shared with readers before. So when I heard that they were making suits, I had high expectations — and they were totally met.

Commando’s suiting pieces are classic yet super modern. You can tell instantly that the design of each piece is flattering and, while they may look simple at first glance, the tailoring is impeccable.

I also think these suiting separates stood out to me immediately, because of the luxury Italian neoprene fabric that the brand used to construct each piece. According to a release from the brand, the fabric is sustainably produced and pill-resistant. Plus, not only does each piece have ample stretch, but it’s all machine-wash friendly, which totally destroyed my previously held assumption that suits were high maintenance.

The CEO collection includes a structured blazer, a 7/8 trouser and a wide-leg trouser. All pieces come in black, navy and dark purple so if you’re, like me, new to the world of suits, maybe a color besides black will draw you in.

Keep scrolling to shop each suiting piece from Commando. And, yes, each item is over $245, but because everything is so well-made, so versatile and so easy to take care of, I think they are worthy investment pieces. (P.S.: Commando offers free two-day shipping on orders over $100!)
