Copycat Girl Scout cookie recipes that taste as good as the real deal

Girl Scout cookie season is a literal treat! The highly coveted cookies are a seasonal favorite that people look forward to each year. In addition to buying boxes, Girl Scout cookie fans can also try making their own at home, thanks to a variety of copycat recipes from TikTok. From Thin Mints to Samoas, here are five homemade Girl Scout cookie recipes you can enjoy year-round.

1. Homemade Thin Mints

These homemade Thin Mints taste just like the real deal! Start by combining unsalted butter with sugar, an egg, vanilla extract and peppermint extract. Next, in a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Then mix with the other ingredients. Roll out the cookie dough to about a quarter-inch, and refrigerate for at least one hour. Use a cookie cutter to cut the dough into circles before baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Finally, coat each cookie in a mix of melted dark chocolate, coconut oil and peppermint extract. Then refrigerate to let the chocolate set.

2. Homemade gluten-free and vegan Tagalongs

These vegan and gluten-free Tagalongs are a healthier alternative to the popular Girl Scout cookie. Start by making the shortbread cookie layer from almond flour, tapioca starch and coconut flour combined with melted coconut oil and maple syrup. Next, mold the dough into circles before baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Once out of the oven, top the cookies with a layer of nut butter mixed with coconut flour and maple syrup. Finally, dip each cookie into a mixture of dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut oil. Then freeze for 10 minutes.

3. Homemade Samoas

This recipe will definitely leave you wanting more! First, combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Next, beat together unsalted butter with sugar before stirring in the dry ingredients. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract. Then refrigerate for one hour. Form the dough into donut shapes, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for eight to 12 minutes. Finally, top the cookies with a layer of caramel, followed by toasted coconut shavings and melted dark chocolate. Then chill before serving.

4. Homemade Do-Si-Dos

Peanut butter lovers will go nuts for this homemade rendition of Do-Si-Do Girl Scout cookies. First, mix together peanut butter, coconut sugar and a whisked egg in a bowl.
