The weather is heating up to record-breaking temperatures and isn’t slowing down. Now is the perfect time to expand your repertoire of cool, refreshing drinks. Yumna Jawad of the Feel Good Foodie introduced TikTok to her creamy lemonade recipe, and it’s a must-try.
Some users noted the recipe’s similarities to Brazilian limeade, which uses limes instead of lemons, and morir soñando in the Dominican Republic, which uses oranges and evaporated milk. In Haiti the beverage is known as crémas and usually contains a splash of rum and spices.
“This is lemonade is on another level! Just add sweetened condensed milk to your lemonade recipe and enjoy,” Jawad said in the video caption.
- 4 lemons, squeezed
- 2 lemons, sliced
- 1/4 cup cane sugar
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups of ice
- 2 cups of water
How to make creamy lemonade:
1. Jawad squeezed the lemon into a glass pitcher.
2. Next, she poured in the sweetened condensed milk.
3. She added the sugar into the pitcher. Then, she stirred the mixture.
4. Jawad tossed in the lemon slices, ice and water, then mixed it again.
“This came out so refreshing, so creamy and so good,” Jawad said taking a sip.
The TikTok garnered 4.9 million views. It inspired lots of inquiries and suggestions.
The chef was also in agreement with a user who said, “Hear me out. Instead of regular water, use sparkling.”
