Taylor Pierce, who goes by the username taylor_thatdancer on Instagram and TikTok, is slaying social media with her dance moves.
Between the two platforms, Pierce has over 4 million followers. Each video features a short choreographed dance that captures Pierce’s intricate hip-hop style. Some focus on particular kinds of movements, like ones that showcase perfect synchronized moves or optical illusions.
In July, Pierce and one of her frequent dance partners, “So You Think You Can Dance’s” Dorian “BluPrint” Hector, totally twinned out. The pair grooved to a disco-pop song while doing identical movements. Pierce and BluPrint danced like robots with a touch of humor as they turned in slow-motion, bent their knees and popped their chests together.
The clip racked up over 269,000 views on Instagram.
“The body control is so good! Looks like a computer did it. But I know it’s all you two!” one person wrote.
“I’ve watched this so many times for so many days,” another commented.
“I can’t stop watching you two are mesmerizing,” someone said.
BluPrint and Pierce’s dance style is sometimes called animation dance. It’s meant to evoke the feeling of film animation with dramatic poses, freeze-frame-like motions and robotics.
