Designer totally transforms bachelor pad in one weekend: ‘They are trusting me blindly’

Galey Alix Gravenstein is a DIY self-taught interior designer. She works as a finance executive on weekdays and operates her design business on weekends. Gravenstein renovates spaces to flip them so she can increase their value to sell at a higher price.

While that certainly requires a lot of work, it also looks like a ton of fun. At least according to the makeover snippets she shares on TikTok, where she has 1.5 million followers.

Gravenstein showed how she redesigned a Miami bachelor pad and the stunning transformation went viral.

“A bachelor in Miami gave me his apartment keys,” she explained, “and left town for one weekend. I never tell people what I’m going to do in their home. I get their credit card, budget and keys. Then they leave for the weekend.”

She completely changed the asthetic of the luxury condo. Gravenstein painted a grey accent wall in the plain, white bedroom. She replaced the bathroom sink, the bed, the kitchen island and tiles. The designer also added new flooring, earth-toned decorations and more refined wall art.

The apartment went from looking like a sterile hotel to a home bursting with character.

“They are trusting me blindly with their money and their home,” Gravenstein said. “This is why I work so hard to surprise them with something magical.”

Her video garnered over 14.4 million views on TikTok

“This is absolutely incredible,” one user wrote.

“It amazes me how fast you manage to do all of this, our renovations months,” another commented

“That’d be a month of work for me to accomplish,” someone added.
