Mom transforms empty diaper boxes into educational snowman

This mom on TikTok has a clever hack for upcycling empty diaper boxes into adorable, festive snowmen!

TikToker Celena Kinsey (@celenakinsey) is a parent who often shares ideas for sensory playing projects and activities. One of Kinsey’s videos features a clever tutorial for a snowman, but instead of snow, she uses leftover diaper boxes to bring the festive creation to life.

In the clip, Kinsey takes three empty diaper boxes of varying sizes and hot glues the lids shut.

Next, she uses white paper (paint works too) to cover each box. After stacking the boxes on top of each other, starting with the biggest, it’s time to accessorize! Using attachable velcro, she fastens the snowman’s body and its various accoutrements.

Kinsey styles her snowman with a plaid scarf, a cardboard top hat painted black with a red sash and holly detail, red and green cardboard buttons, and of course, eyes and a pointy nose.

Kinsey also cuts out different expressions for the snowman’s mouth to use as a tool to talk about and work through different emotions and feelings with her child. Children can express themselves by sticking a frown or a grin on the snowman’s face.

Viewers loved Kinsey’s clever holiday craft.

“I definitely will make this for my nephews. Thank you for this wonderful idea,” said one grateful user.

“Omg!! What a cute project!! Amazing,” another viewer gushed.

“Ugh, you’re always so creative,” one person complimented.

Viewers were so impressed they started to make requests for Kinsey to create other classic winter icons.

“Can you make a gingerbread man?” asked one user.

“What about a penguin, plz?” another viewer inquired.

Whether you’re in the DIY decorating spirit or looking for a fun sensory game to play with your child, Kinsey’s diaper box snowman is worth a try!
