Lee has plenty of tips for keeping your skin healthy, and she shared a few of them with In The Know: Namely, like how to use over-the-counter products to keep up a solid nighttime routine. Check out her easy, five-step process below:
1. Oil cleanser

2. Salicylic acid
Next, Lee washes her face with a salicylic acid cleanser, which is easily available over the counter. The doctor has one she likes from her own brand, SLMD Skincare, but they’re also widely available in stores and online.
“I really like this because it is gentle, but it is so multipurpose. It’s going to help to exfoliate
Retinol, also known as vitamin A, is something Lee says “everyone should be using, even at a young age.” There are plenty of options available online — including from Olay and Ulta Beauty — but it’s easily available over-the-counter in stores as well.
Lee noted that dermatologists will often recommend the vitamin, as it also has anti-skin cancer properties.
“It is probably the number-one anti-aging product out there,” she added.
4. Hyaluronic acid serum
After that, Lee uses a hyaluronic acid serum, such as the Neutropenia Hydro Boost. This product, the doctor noted, will give you a calming, cool feeling on your skin.
“It’s almost like you’re giving yourself a little facial,” she said.
5. Benzoyl peroxide
Lastly, Lee wants to help us take care of those annoying acne bumps. To do that, she recommends spot treatment, particularly with benzoyl peroxide, which is available over the counter.
“You just put a dollop on a pimple that you know is coming up to the surface,” Lee added. “It helps to remind you to keep your hands off of it and also it helps to treat it.”
