Elaine Welteroth is In The Know’s new Consulting Editor-at-Large.
The award-winning journalist is behind our newly unveiled digital covers, the first of which launched on Thursday, June 17, and features Pose star Mj Rodriguez and artist Chella Man in celebration of Pride Month. In The Know will release new digital covers each month to highlight the culture-defining talent who contribute to the conversations and trends shaping society today, furthering the In The Know commitment to sharing meaningful stories and relevant commerce content with consumers.
Welteroth, who is also a judge on Bravo’s Project Runway and co-host on CBS’s The Talk, will help curate every month’s cover in collaboration with In The Know.
“Storytelling is one of the most important vehicles for implementing positive societal change. Amplifying marginalized voices and diverse perspectives has always been at the core of my career, no matter the job. It’s also been a key pillar of In The Know since the brand’s inception,” Welteroth said of her new role. “I’m thrilled to join the In The Know team as Consulting Editor-at-Large to continue sharing meaningful, culture-shifting stories. It is critical to me that we spotlight individuals who authentically reflect the diversity of voices and values that matter most to our audience.”
“Specific to the inaugural cover, Chella Man and Mj Rodriguez are both dynamic artists who are change-makers in their fields,” she continued. “They are role models to the next generation, and the embodiment of everything that In The Know’s digital covers are a celebration of.”
Weltheroth made history at Teen Vogue in 2016 when she became the publication’s editor-in-chief, making her just Condé Nast’s second EIC of African-American heritage. In the years since, in addition to joining Project Runway and The Talk, Welteroth also wrote a memoir, More Than Enough: Claiming Space for Who You Are (No Matter What They Say).
In The Know couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Elaine Welteroth to our family, and we look forward to continuing to partner with her on our culture-defining digital covers.
