Emilia Clarke reveals what ‘annoyed’ her about ‘Game of Thrones’

Even though it aired 10 months ago, people haven’t been able to stop talking about that “Game of Thrones” ending — not even the show’s stars.

Emilia Clarke, a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen, recalled the tumultuous end to her time as the Mother of Dragons in a recent interview with the Sunday Times.

“When the show did end, it was like coming out of a bunker,” she told the paper. “Everything felt really strange.”

Clarke told the paper she wondered how fans would react to it.

“I knew how I felt when I first read it, and I tried, at every turn, not to consider too much what other people might say,” she said. “We did it for them, and they were the ones who made us successful, so … it’s just polite, isn’t it?”

Warning: Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t finished “Game of Thrones”

Clarke admitted she “felt” for her character after Daenerys was killed by Jon Snow.

“I really felt for her. And yeah, was I annoyed that Jon Snow didn’t have to deal with something?” she joked. “He got away with murder — literally.”

Clarke also addressed a popular critique of the show, which was that the final season tried to do too much in too few episodes.

“We could have spun it out for a little longer,” she told the newspaper.

Her frank words about “Game of Thrones” come as a bit of a surprise, as her co-star Kit Harrington staunchly defended the show’s storyline in a2019 interview with “Esquire.”

“How I feel about the show right now is quite defiant,” he told the magazine. “Now if people feel let down by it, I don’t give a f*** — because everyone tried their hardest. That’s how I feel.”
